Camp Volunteers

EXPLORE

We need passionate volunteers.

Are you looking for an opportunity to share your time and skills, meet new friends, and make a vital contribution to children
with sickle cell disease? Join the more than 50 volunteers who give of their time and energy at Camp Crescent Moon.
Volunteers have been the backbone of Camp Crescent Moon since 1967.

The Camp Director, Mary E. Brown is responsible for the administrative and programmatic aspects of camp.
The Medical Director, Cage Johnson, MD is responsible for the infirmary and all medical, health and safety aspects of camp.
We are a ship with two captains.

We have a need for volunteers for both areas of camp.

Cabin Counselors, Program Specialists, Chefs, Cooks,

MEDICAL VOLUNTEERS

As a medically supervised camp we rely on volunteer nurses, doctors, physician assistants, and behavioral health members to provide for the medical care of the campers and volunteers throughout the week. We ask for health care members to volunteer for at least two (2) full days during the camp week for consistency in the infirmary.
